Influence of top management commitment towards the effective implementation of TQM in Iraqi oil companies

Abstract By raising performance, Total Quality Management (TQM) transforms any industry that is in a state of substantial structural change and facing increased competition. However, Iraq as one the main global oil suppliers still lagging on TQM journey due to decreasing quality levels, particularly management systems. Thus, this study aims facilitate Iraqi Oil Companies by reviewing practices significance Top Commitment (TMC) towards eliminating barriers for implementation. To achieve aim, utilises mixed research approach single holistic case strategy triangulating literature data collected from leading companies. The identified TMC most influential factor effective implementation six barriers. Furthermore, reveals relationship between top commitment required successful journey. This will be first its kind which lead better understanding encourage other researchers extend through further work.
